Radioactive Wench
Hi Everyone
Well we made it. I am currently staying with my big sister in London.
She has WebTV which has been a little tricky to use (no mouse). But
all
systems are go now.
So here is a run down:
After a rush to get out to the airport we made it to
our Singapore airline flight.
The service was great and we arrived in singapore not
to worse for wear.
(Love having your own personal TV screen.)
Singapore has lots of tall housing estates which are
built by the government to house everybody in such a
small space. They a pretty ugly but seem to be kept
pretty tidy. The motorways and roads are beautiful with big
trees forming umbrellas over the road to create shade.
It is very hot and muggy. We went shopping on Thursday
at Orchard Road. Unfortunately being the keen kiwis we
are, we got there at 9.30 and the shops did not open
until 10.30-11.00. Singapore runs on my sort of time!
We went down to a deserted quay on the river to try
and find a city tour. Which was sold out. We were in urgent
need of food and the only place open was a dirty and dingy
chinese food hall. Very dodgy! We ate there feeling despondent.
We were looking through copious brochures when a lady
from the tour company we had just visited offered us the
competitors tour. She phoned them and booked us in, basically
saving the day. (what she was doing with competitors brochures,
phone number and stickers I do not know.)
Great to Sans and Scottie again. We have so far vistied the Hyde
Park, Kew Gardens, Harrods, Windsor Castle, the Tower of London
and a few other places. When we arrived in London the temperature
was 25 degrees!!! But unfortunatley it is pretty chilly now.
I had better go, this e-mail is already far to long.
Look after yourselves.
Love from
The Radioactive Wench
